This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We wrote it in plain language so you can actually read it.
1. Who we are
DoTheBeauty B.V. is a company registered in Amsterdam, Netherlands. We provide a website builder, online booking system, and salon management platform for beauty and hair professionals.
When we say "DoTheBeauty," "we," "us," or "our" in this policy, we mean DoTheBeauty B.V.
2. What data we collect
We collect the following types of data:
Account information. Your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
Salon data. Your salon name, address, services, pricing, staff members, opening hours, and any content you add to your website.
Booking data. Client names, phone numbers, email addresses, appointment details, and booking history. This data is entered by your clients when they book through your website.
Payment data. Billing information is processed by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number. Stripe handles all payment processing and PCI compliance.
Usage analytics. Basic usage data such as page views, feature usage, and error logs. We use this to improve the product. We do not track you across the web.
3. Why we collect it
We collect data for one reason: to provide and improve the service you signed up for. Specifically:
- To build and host your salon website
- To process bookings from your clients
- To send booking confirmations and reminders via email
- To process your subscription payments
- To generate AI content for your website
- To fix bugs and improve the product
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your client lists with anyone.
4. How we store your data
Your data is stored on cloud infrastructure provided by Supabase (database and authentication) and Vercel (application hosting). All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
Our infrastructure is hosted in the EU. We take reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
5. Third parties
We share data with the following third-party services, only as needed to provide the product:
Stripe processes payments. When you enter your card details, Stripe handles the transaction. Their privacy policy applies to payment data.
Resend sends transactional emails on our behalf (booking confirmations, password resets, etc.).
Vercel hosts the application and serves your salon website.
Anthropic provides AI content generation. When you build your website, we send your salon details (name, type, services) to generate text. No client booking data is sent to Anthropic.
We do not sell data to any third party. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking tools.
6. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer if required by law (for example, invoices for tax purposes).
Backups are retained for up to 30 days and are then automatically deleted.
7. Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the EU (or the UK), you have the following rights:
Access. You can request a copy of all data we hold about you.
Correction. You can update or correct your data at any time from your dashboard.
Deletion. You can delete your account and all associated data. We process deletion requests within 30 days.
Export. You can export your salon data, client list, and booking history from your dashboard.
Objection. You can object to how we process your data. Contact us and we will review your request.
Complaint. You have the right to file a complaint with a data protection authority. In the Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

8. Cookies
We use minimal cookies. Specifically:
- Authentication session cookie. Required to keep you logged in. This is a functional cookie and does not require consent.
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to beyond the functional session cookie.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will notify you by email. Minor updates (clarifications, formatting) may be made without notice. The date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version.
